Check Out AcroYoga Austin’s Events Calendar
This is the official calendar for all things acro in the greater Austin area: jams, classes, series, workshops, and more! Our volunteers do their best to keep this calendar up-to-date, but it’s a good idea to click through to the event pages themselves (on Facebook, Meetup, Phoenix Rising, Sweat Pals, etc.) for any last-minute details or cancellations. Have fun, stay safe, and make sure you’re adhering to our Conduct & Etiquette!
Events promoted on this page are the responsibility of the organizer and are subject to rules outside of Austin Acro Advocates (AAA). Unless specified, AAA is not in charge of, or responsible for, the events promoted here.
Types of Acro Events on the Calendar
Acro Jam
An acro jam is a low-key, informal gathering for people to practice acroyoga in a relaxed environment. All skill levels are welcome. You do not have to bring a partner to participate. The term “jam” comes from the music world, signifying a casual, unplanned get-together to play, practice, and share skills, rather than a formal class with instructors. Participants can work on new skills, teach each other basic techniques, or simply socialize and enjoy the practice, making it a “movement potluck” of sorts.
Public Classes
Public classes can come in a variety of formats including low commitment drop-in experiences or class series that can build cumulatively. In either case, classes are structured learning environments where one or more teachers will guide students through rounds of acroyoga material. Unless otherwise specified, classes typically don’t require you to bring a designated partner. Please check pre-requisites prior to attending.
Acro Workshops
Similarly to an acro class, acroyoga workshops provide structured learning under the care of knowledgable teachers. However, workshops tend to be a little longer in duration than a regular class. Thus offering more concentrated time to development skills through practical application and problem-solving. Oftentimes, workshops are one-time events or weekend intensives that allows for collaboration and more immediate results. Please check pre-requisites prior to attending. While it’s advised to go into more intensive training with a calibrated partner, it is most often not a requirement to attend.
